Ron appears in a short sketch playing Stuart, psychiatrist to one of Tracey Ullman's many characters, Janie, a high-flying businesswoman who is at the top of her profession as the highest paid editor in New York City. After twelve years of therapy, Janie reveals to Stuart her deep-rooted secret desire to be spanked!
Far from being surprised by this revelation, Stuart tells her that it's perfectly natural for a woman in her position, who always has the upper hand, to want to feel a sense of humiliation and submission. He even gives her an information sheet on the theory and practice of her secret fantasy, and Janie goes away satisfied. But after failing miserably to incite her pacifist husband, Gregor, into any type of action, Janie realizes that putting theory into practice is going to be far more difficult to achieve. In desperation, she visits a seedy establishment in the Village which trades under the title, "SPANKY PANKY," but halfway up the shabby staircase, Janie's senses are assaulted by the cries and screams of pain emanating from the rooms above, and she turns and flees in panic, telling Stuart at their next session that she didn't want to be scarred for life by some stranger.
Toying purposefully with her hairbrush as she lies on his couch, Janie tells Stuart that what she needs is someone she can trust; a discreet, professional, authority figure - someone she could pay a DOUBLE fee to.
After twelve years of treating this elitist, self-centred, egotistical woman who among other things has rejected her own parents, cheated with her best friend's husband, and who will stop at nothing to get what she wants, Stuart has a multitude of reasons for wanting to punish Janie, and the fact that he is being offered a double fee to do it, is a temptation he just cannot resist!
This is an amusing little sketch, and I feel sure that Ron and Tracy had a lot of fun working on it.
