Etragian stops Mary and Peter Jackson (Annabeth Gish & Henry Thomas)on a desert highway.
He arrests the couple for possession and takes them to the town of Desperation.

 

Ralph and Ellie Carver (Matt Frewer & Sylvia Kelegian) are also locked up in Entragian's jail.

Part of Congress Street in Tucson is transformed into a scene from war-torn Vietnam for a flashback scene.

A huge, cotrolled explosion is set off at the empty store lot where the Vietnam scene has been set up.

Special effects specialist, Ron Colucci, hoses down Congress Street after the explosion.

The citizens of Tucson take the opportunity to watch the filming.
