November 6, 2005: Uwe Boll has told Sci Fi Wire, that "In the Name of the King: A Dungeon Siege Tale," will not be released in two parts after all. The director said that Peter Jackson's decision to release "King Kong" as a three-hour film persuaded him to keep his own movie in one piece. The theatrical version of "Dungeon Siege" will run for about two hours and 40 minutes, and the longer version will be available on DVD.

Boll said that initially he thought that releasing two 105-minute films could work, but it wasn't written as a two-part movie, and it doesn't work as well that way, but it's something that could be shown over two nights on television.

August 25, 2005. One of Ron's most recent voice-work projects, the video game, "The Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction,"has been described by Karter Yu of Xbox World as impressively powerful, and action-packed, but Yu goes on to say that "for an action title, "Ultimate Destruction" maintains a simple comic book style plot that never resorts to cheap tricks like introducing a dozen random villains in order to keep things lively, instead, it centers on a small cast of characters and their escalating conflict."

Ron voices the character of Emil Blonsky, Bruce Banner's arch-enemy in this game.

Yu's indepth review also includes a number of game screenshots, and the final score given by Xbox World for "The Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction," was a whopping 90 out of 100!

July 18, 2005. An interesting piece of info came to light via comingsoon.net in regard to the "The Chronicles of Narnia" panel at the San Diego Comic con this year. Included in the panel's guests were Richard Taylor and Ben Wooten, who designed and created all of the creatures from the film, and to quote comingsoon.net:

"Richard and Ben talked about the design of the creatures, while showing slides of paintings, concept sketches and maquettes of some of the creatures, including the satyrs, a sprite, centaurs, a maugrim and a mermaid, as well as a few pictures of Aslan and Ron Perlman as a minotaur. "

So far, I've not found any confirmation of Ron's appearance in this movie.

For anyone who enjoys this type of film, the official website is definitely worth a visit. (Flash is needed).

June 15, 2005. Ron provides the voice of Kago in the new animated Disney movie, "TARZAN II," which was released on DVD in the USA on June 14th. "TARZAN II" is produced by Walt Disney Animation, and distributed by Buena Vista Home Video.

Extract from a movie synopsis at comingsoon.net
This story focuses on Tarzan's early years which were glossed over in the theatrical film. That time period is great territory for establishing new adventures about the maturing superhero. Tarzan II introduces a new group of gorillas. The dysfunctional family is led by Estelle Harris (George's mom on Seinfeld) as Mama Gunda. Any time you need a loud and obnoxious mother figure, Harris certainly fits the bill. Playing the brothers are Brad Garrett (Everybody Loves Raymond) as Uto and Ron Perlman (Hellboy) as Kago. Uto is just plain stupid while Kago has violent tendencies. The three act as the heavies in the story and provide a lot of comic relief, especially in a 'Home Alone' kind of sequence towards the end.

UK release date: August 8, 2005.

June 12, 2005. It seems that Ron has been signed up for more voice work for XBOX video games. Gamedaily.com announced that THQ and developer Relic are bringing World War II to the Xbox 360 in "THE OUTFIT," which is due for release in November this year.

Videos and images can be found at ign.com including a video interview with producer, Adrian Crook, who revealed that Robert Patrick, Ron Perlman and TC Carson are signed on to be the voices of the Heroes.

(On a side note, after checking out the videos and images, I noticed that one of the main characters wears shades and smokes a large cigar! Could this be Ron's character I wonder?)

Game Description (from gamesdaily.com)
The Outfit allows players the option to choose from three playable squad leader personalities, each with their own specific skills and abilities. With their squad leaders, players will guide two squads of battle-forged soldiers on missions ranging from reconnaissance-and-rescue to search-and-destroy across immensely destructible battlefields. Players can switch between squads at any time and can strategically use squads separately, in tandem or as one super-unit. By engaging in combat with the enemy, players will earn action points that can be used to upgrade their arsenal, order in tanks and many other vehicles, build machinegun nests and anti-tank emplacements or call for air or artillery strikes.

February 24, 2005. Comments on "Desperation" from Stephen King.

"I ordinarily don’t comment far in advance on films based on my work, especially TV films, but in the case of "Desperation" I am going to make an exception because my old partner in crime, Mick Garris, has produced an extraordinary piece of work, and the ensemble cast is outstanding. Ron Perlman as Collie Entragian will haunt your dreams. You might want to consider making time in May (tentative) for this one, which is when ABC plans to run it.

"One word of warning: this is TV and it’s impossible to tell in advance how much of a given piece of work will be cut. The version of "Desperation" I saw was graphic and very frightening. This may make the network uneasy."

January 7, 2005. MTV.com have placed 'HELLBOY' at number 5 in their choice of the 8 best films of 2004.

5. "Hellboy" Director Guillermo del Toro ("Blade II") really does this comix transplant up right. The movie's a riot of furious action, luscious color, wildly imaginative set design, and — the icing on the gargoyle — scum-sucking Nazis, too. Ron Perlman, as the wise-cracking, stogie-smoking Hellboy, a hulking behemoth who's switched his demonic allegiance to the fight against evil, gives one of the year's most original performances — he manages to project heart and soul from beneath a ton of prosthetic makeup. A fantasy classic.

January 3, 2005. Hamptonroads.com has placed the "Hellboy" Director's Cut DVD at number 8 in their list of 10 Top DVD's for 2004.

8. “Hellboy: Director’s Cut” fans, genre junkies and Ron Perlman devotees rejoice: Columbia has released a three-disc set, with 13 extra minutes of footage and enough extras to keep you glued to the couch for a week. Director Guillermo del Toro plants his surly title character into a dead-on comic book world that completely sucks the viewer into the fight between good and evil. Features three commentaries, a well done 2½-hour documentary, a slew of stupendous behind-the-scenes featurettes and more. This release totally rocks.
