The premiere of "Star Trek Nemesis" at the legendary Grauman's Chinese Theatre on Hollywood Boulevard began like all such similar events, with the arrivals of the film's stars, creators and crew on the red carpet, along with other Hollywood celebrities.
The red carpet was dotted with "Nemesis" posters every few feet, and visible to the barricades where fans lined up to watch the arrivals as Jerry Goldsmith's "Nemesis" soundtrack underscored the proceedings from loudspeakers.
Guest-stars from the film were also on the red carpet, including Dina Meyer ("Commander Donatra") and Ron Perlman ("Reman Viceroy"), as well as Boomtown star Neal McDonough, who appeared as Lt. Hawk in "Star Trek: First Contact."
The after-premiere party was held in a banquet room high atop the Kodak Theatre complex, next door to Grauman's. With stunning views over Los Angeles and Hollywood, the venue also scaled new heights with regard to atmosphere, food and drink. As the guests filed out of the theater and entered the bash, an eerie light fog enveloped them. Whether it was intended to be in keeping with the mood of the film or the "Nemesis" theatrical poster, the party certainly kicked off in style. With exquisite food laid out and an abundance of refreshments, the party guests got the royal treatment as ice sculptures, music and projected images of space, movie stills and the space station completed the ambiance. The evening finally wound down near midnight and the guests appeared to have their fill with both a stunning movie — complete with action, love, sacrifice and intrigue — and a stylish party.
